St. John's Pond is not simply a scenic landmark. It is a functioning freshwater ecosystem — home to seven federally protected species — and it is under serious threat. The dam's wooden spillway weir is actively failing. Without intervention, it could drain twelve feet of water into Cold Spring Harbor.
This fundraiser is the community's answer. Every year, we gather here to make the restoration possible — and to remind ourselves what we're protecting.
